Nokia E52

Nokia E52 Review

By Mark Agar

Nokia have designed another great smartphone with the Nokia E52, it comes in two great colours, golden or metal grey. The display screen is 2.4 inches with 16 million colours and 240 x 320 pixels. Nokia have made the E52 quite light at just under 100 grams with dimensions of 9.9 x 4.9 x 116mm.

There is a reasonable 3.2 mega-pixel camera that comes jam packed with some great functions including auto focus, LED flash and 4 x digital zoom for all those faraway images you want to capture. The E52 also comes with a dedicated camera key making it feel like you are actually using a digital camera not just a mobile phone. Nokia have also given the E52 a video recorder taking up to 15 frames per second and like the camera it has a 4 x digital zoom. You can play back you videos using a number of different modes including WMV, Realvideo and MP4.

With all mobile phones there are a number of ways to stay in contact with friends and family and Nokia have not disappointed with the E52 smartphone, you can send texts using SMS, pictures using MMS messaging and also instant messages with MSN or Yahoo IM. If email is the way you like to stay in contact with people you can with IMAP4 and POP3, you can also receive attachments via email.

The Nokia E 52 music player comes with a whole load of functions that will make those boring train journeys go that little bit quicker, the music player supports MP3, AAC+, AAC, AMR NB and WMA formats. Searching for your music is easy and you can display the album using album art or use the shuffle function, you can also change the bass using the equaliser. The E52 has a built-in FM radio with RDS so you can listen to all your favourite radio DJs any place any time.

Lets talk about the connectivity on the E52, you can connect to the internet using Wi-Fi® and 3G HSDPA, you can also connect to other compatible devices via Bluetooth® or maybe you may need to connect using a USB cable for transferring large amounts of information.

You can use the E52 pretty much anywhere in the world as is supports quad band and HSDPA networks. There are many other great features built-in the E52 handset including GPS navigation with compass and Nokia maps, this will enable you to find you way round if you were to ever get lost. If you like playing games on your handset the the E52 is the phone for you as it supports N Gage applications and Nokia have got you started with Solitaire and Block cascade. Other features include phone book, calendar and converter to name just a few.

Overall the Nokia E52 is a fantastic affordable smartphone with so many great features to explore.
